Dr. Dave was born in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Science. He received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Oregon Dental School, where he graduated with honors and was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Dave then joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned as on officer with the rank of Captain. During his army assignment, Dr. Dave completed the General Dentistry Rotating Internship at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco and then completed his service duty in Germany gaining the rank of Major. After the service, he then completed the postgraduate orthodontic program at USC. Dr. Dave is an active member of the San Fernando Valley Dental Society, where he has served in many positions including President. Dr. Dave is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics and the American Cleft Palate Association. In addition, Dr. Dave is a Diplomate of the American board of Orthodontics.

Dr Dave is married and is the father of Dr. Jason and Michelle, both of whom had orthodontic treatment. He is active with hiking, skiing, fishing and being Papa to his two grandchildren.
